Pottery after hours

Cost per person, per session is $40.00.

The Experience:

Mix Mingle Make! Join us for a fun, hands-on experience where you can craft or decorate your own unique pottery piece while listening to local musicians.

Staff will be around to assist however this is more of a self-guided sensory art experience where participants can explore working with clay at their whimsy.

Clay, tools, and materials are included in the price for creating or you can choose to purchase a piece from our selection of pre-made pottery to paint.

If you would like to finish any pieces you create during the event you can choose to have us finish your work for $20/piece up to 6’ circumference. Larger pieces will cost more)

or book a future Painting + Pottery Experience to finish the piece yourself.

Each firing takes 2-3 weeks.

Clay is a process that requires time and process to fully complete. After your piece has been created it will need to dry slowly before it’s first firing in the kiln. This is called the bisque firing. Once it has been through the bisque firing, a 3 day process where we run a pre-heat, soak, 14 hr firing, and 24 hr cooling cycle it is ready to put the final decorative touches on and run through it’s final firing, the glaze fire. The glaze firing runs for 9 hours and cools for 24. Cracking and accidents can occur at any point during the drying or firing process so non-attachment is one of the key lessons pottery teaches us. We will do our best to care for your pieces through the process!

You will not receive an email when pieces are ready. Feel free to email us with a photo of your piece to check in on the status before pickup. Work must be collected within 2 months from the date of the class or will be discarded. Open Studio hours for collection can be found on our website here.

Anyone under the age of 18 MUST be accompanied by an adult who is also taking the class.

CANCELLATION & REFUND POLICY: Notify hello@uptown-clay.com at least 48 hours prior to the class to receive a refund or to reschedule your class. There are no refunds for cancellations or no-shows within 48 hours of the scheduled class.
